Sugar Cookies

Introduction

Ingredients

  • 150g butter, softened

  • 150g sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 225g all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  • In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.

  • Sift in flour and baking powder, then mix until a soft dough forms.

  • Roll dough into small balls and place on the tray, flattening slightly.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.

  • Allow cookies to cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
